Banko Gotiti is a village in the Gedeb district in Yirgacheffe – arguably Ethiopia's most famous coffee producing region. The cooperative was founded in 2012, and currently has about 300 members.
Traceability within Ethiopia is usually limited to the mill – as most Ethiopian farmers own a small plot of land and don't have the resources to process the coffee themselves. Farmers bring their ripe cherries to Banko Gotiti, where they produce both washed and natural lots.
The processing at Banko Gotiti brings out everything you'd come to expect from a great Ethiopian Natural – plenty of fruit tones with Fig and Berry in the cup, and a deep body. A great change up from the Washed Ethiopian previously in the Explorer Series.
